New touchscreen elevators are beginning to make an appearance and may become the norm in the future. These elevators have a touchscreen located outside the elevator (there are no screens or buttons inside the elevator), so you must enter your selection before you get in. It saves your choice and usually takes you straight to your floor without a lot of other stops. They are supposed to be more efficient. Time will tell!
